Baby and Toddler Groups
The Baby and Toddler Groups meet on Tuesdays from 10.00 am to 11.45 am in the Middle Room or Church Hall. Parent, Carer and Todler Group runs on a Tuesday morning for parents and carers.
Family Time runs on a Wednesday morning from 10.00am to 11.45am for family members.
Little Footprints meets on Thursday morning from 10.00-11.50am and is for mothers and babies under 18 months of age.
During the Summer months, the groups meet in the vicarage garden.
All these groups aim to create a happy and safe area for children to enjoy a relaxed and fun time with their parents and carers. The groups are a great way to help young children adjust to the bigger world as it gives them the opportunity to play and to interact with other children before they start nursery school. It also offers an opportunity for the adults to meet new friends while their children are busy and they enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
The groups follows a simple formula:
- The toys are set up by 10.00 am in different areas to encourage play and stimulation (of course the toys do not always stay in the same place as these are very young children)
- In addition to the toys, we have a little book corner and it is very encouraging to see how many children love to sit and look through the books on their own or with their carers.
- The group offers a different craft activity every week from sticking to painting and biscuit decorating which has proved popular with the adults and children
- At approximately 11.15 am, we all clear away ready for circle time - at this time the children have a snack and a drink and then enjoy a sing-a-long of the children’s favourite songs and nursery rhymes
In the summer we decamp to the vicarage garden in good weather. The children particularly enjoy the new playhouse there, which is dedicated to the memory of Sebastian Summers.
So that we can be self-funding a donation, of approximately £3.00 is appreciated. We look forward to welcoming new members to our group at any time.
