We want our church buildings to be open to all, though an old building presents certain challenges. There is step-free access to the interior of the church and a ramp can be provided to give access to other parts of the building

For any queries about specific access requirements, please contact our Parish Office.

Within the church

A welcomer will be at the main door to help throughout each service. Please ask for their assistance at any time.

We have step-free access via our main entrance, the North Door. This leads evenly into the main body of the church. There are two spaces for wheelchairs in the centre aisle of the main pews.

There is a step up to the Lady Chapel, and a step up to the vestry where our toilet is. We have a portable ramp which allows easy access. There are two steps up to the main altar, and sidespeople will be on hand to assist anyone who wants to step up those.

Ask a welcomer if you would prefer to have communion brought to you where you are sitting.

A trained first-aider is on duty at every service.

The church provides wheelchairs for any visitors to use.

There is one toilet in the vestry. This accommodates a wheelchair but there is one tight corner to get in and assistance may be required.

A quiet area

The Lady Chapel is glassed in and provides a quiet area during services.

We have a designated Blue Badge parking space by the North Door. Parking in the churchyard is restricted to those who absolutely need it.

At Christmas and Easter Services no parking is allowed in the churchyard. People with limited mobility can always be dropped off outside the church door.

Mobility scooters can be parked at the back of church.

An induction loop is available in church. Please sit in the front two-thirds of pews on the right  of the main aisle.

There are speakers in the Lady Chapel and the vestry so you can always hear the service throughout the building

Visual impairment

Service sheets and hymn books are available in large print. Assistance dogs are welcome.
