Weddings

To book a wedding please contact our parish secretary.

Wedding If you would like to get married at All Saints Fulham we will do all we can to ensure your wedding day is a very happy one and that your marriage begins on the firmest foundations.  You will be invited to make your solemn promises to each other, not only in front of your family and friends but in the sight of God and with God’s blessing.

Preparation

We will help you to prepare carefully for your marriage, practically, emotionally and spiritually, through our marriage preparation course.  Your service will be as personal as we can make it, bearing in mind that the church is in use for public worship and other purposes, too.

Who can be married at All Saints?

You can get married at All Saints Fulham in one of three ways.

  • If one or both of you live in the parish
  • or are habitual worshippers at the church for at least six months
  • or have a historic connection with the parish

Divorcees

If one or both of you has been divorced then the clergy will want to discuss with you how the previous marriage went wrong and the needs and concerns of any children from a previous marriage or relationship.  If the clergy are happy to marry you then you can be married under the same qualifying conditions as above.

Non-Christians

If one of you belongs to another faith, which is not Christian, then it may still be possible for you to get married at All Saints Fulham but you must have the normal Christian service.

Blessings

Please also get in contact if you wish to have a religious blessing following on from a civil marriage.

Banns

  • Banns are an announcement in church of your intention to marry and a chance for anyone to put forward a reason why the marriage may not lawfully take place.
  • Banns are an ancient legal tradition and have been read out every week in churches across the land for millions of couples, over many centuries.
  • After your forthcoming marriage is announced, the congregation may be invited to pray for you both. It can be quite special and moving to hear this, so do go along if you can.
  • Banns need to be read in the parish where each of you lives as well as the church in which you are to be married, if that is somewhere else.
  • You must have your banns read out in church for three Sundays during the three months before the wedding. This is usually done over three consecutive Sundays but does not have to be.

Please complete this Banns of Marriage application and email it back to the Parish Office.
